Older Adult Programs
Larkspur Recreation Department offers enriching programs for older adults. Below is information about Larkspur Walkers, Larkspur Larks, and For Fitness' Sake Low-Impact Aerobics.
The Larkspur Walkers would like to invite you to join them on one of their morning walks. The walking group was started 24 years ago! Walks start and finish at Piper Park. You have probably seen us walking along the bike paths, trails, and climbing the easement staircases around Larkspur. On the first Wednesday of each month we carpool from Piper Park to take a walk at a location within the county or in San Francisco.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m.
Saturday (October 8-November 19 ONLY), 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m.
Piper Park, 250 Doherty Drive, Larkspur; meet at east end of parking lot.
$20.00 yearly membership includes Monday, Wednesday, Friday and occasional Saturday.
For walks please arrive 5 minutes early for easy warm-up exercises before the walk. Allow time for a few stretches immediately following the walk. It is suggested that you check with your physician before joining the Larkspur Walkers. Although we are pet-friendly in Piper Park, pets are not allowed on these one-hour walks. We appreciate your consideration in leaving your pet at home.
The Larkspur Larks Club is open to community members who are 55 years and older. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and enjoy the resources of our community and the Bay Area. Special guest programs are periodically planned. The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m. at the Larkspur Community Room. Please bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy the fun! If an outing is planned you will be notified ahead of time.

For Fitness' Sake Low-Impact Aerobics
In our non-competitive, supportive atmosphere, we welcome you at your current fitness level, whatever that is. This is a professional, complete program from warm-up, aerobic and toning, through stretch and relaxation. You owe it to yourself to give us a try.
