- One Bay Area: An initiative meant to coordinate efforts among the region’s nine counties and 101 towns and cities to create a more sustainable future. A consortium of regional agencies—the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) unveiled the initiative at an historic summit on Earth Day, April 22, 2010. One major effort now underway is the development of Plan Bay Area, the region’s long-range plan for sustainable land use, transportation and housing.
- Urban Land Institution (ULI) San Francisco: Established in 1936, the Urban Land Institute is a nonprofit education and research institute with over 30,000 members across the globe—2,000 here in the Greater Bay Area.
